Egg Samples
Please note that these eggs are not to scale. Everyone knows that a hard boiled egg is actually bigger than an emo egg.
Oology is the study of eggs. There are many animals in addition to birds that have eggs: insects, monotremes (the duck billed platypus is one), dinosaurs, the list goes on.
The Royal Alberta Museum has a virtual bird egg exhibit you can browse through. If you look at the Tinamou egg there, it doesn’t look like the one here. That’s because it is a Chilean Tinamou egg and not a Great Tinamou egg. Look at the last photo in this article for a Great Tinamou egg.
